Satellite TV Offers More Than Cable
We have been itching to get rid of Comcast basic cable for quite a while. The problem is they give you a good deal with their bundles that include telepone, high speed internet, and cable TV service. When you want to disconnect one, you lose the savings of the bundle.
But the cable TV setup just has to go, as the service and quality is well below par. There is so much talk these days about hi def, there isn’t much of that with Charter cable TV. So I began researching who else was providing service in my neck of the woods.
I happen to be one of the folks who have been given a couple of options. Unlike many people who can only choose from just the cable company or satellite TV, I have another option in my area. The old telephone company in my area has been upgrading their network. So I have an additional player with Verizon and their fiber optic service.
That doesn’t of course mean I won’t have similar problems. It could put me in the same boat as with the cable television company, as the phone company want me to bundle their TV service with internet and voice service. If the service works out well, customers will be happy. Then again if the service is poor you are in the same situation that we all hate, being stuck with cable TV that isn’t all that great.
The reviews I found on the internet are pretty good on telecom television service. Of course it is brand new, there is sometimes a learning curve with a service like this, and some folks write bad reviews. Some of those reviews are the funny, simply for the reason customers make the decision to write a dissertation on their horrible experience and share it on the web. They rail on the company like it is some huge conspiracy to make the customer unhappy, like the corporation does not want our money!
Another way to go that I am looking into is of course satellite TV. Since we have seven TV viewers in our home, we have subscribed in the past to a high end cable television package. The satellite companies seem to be pretty comparable, as the DirecTV Premier package and the Dish Network Everything package are each about $105 per month. Yes that’s fairly high for pay TV, but if you compare that to taking your family to supper and a show, the entertainment value is comparable.
